ROME (Civitavecchia) |

| This was to be my second visit to Rome, my first was with my first wife in 1965 when, on a very dull day, we asked someone where the Trevi Fountain was, only to be told to "turn around"! We were standing in front of it but it was so very dirty and had not been cleaned so we did not recognise it. What a difference now though, and with a sunny and warm day it made all the difference. Anne had never been to Rome so she had a lot to look forward to. In spite of being in a wheelchair we had no problem getting around, indeed in the Colosseum there were lifts for just such a purpose. We both had a great day. | ||
